Kwizda Agro Inspires Young Girls at Vienna’s Daughters’ Day 2025

Fostering Future Talent in Agriculture: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Modern Crop Protection

Vienna, April 25, 2025  —  At this year’s Vienna Daughters’ Day, Kwizda Agro once again opened its doors to curious young minds, offering schoolgirls aged 10 to 16 an exciting look behind the scenes of modern agriculture. Participants enjoyed a diverse program at two locations – the company’s headquarters in Vienna and the production site in Leobendorf – gaining hands-on insights into the research, development, and production of innovative crop protection products.

“We want to show young women that careers in science and technology are full of exciting opportunities. Daughters’ Day is a fantastic way to spark girls’ interest in MINT fields – mathematics, IT, natural sciences, and technology,” emphasized Ronald Hamedl, Managing Director of Kwizda Agro. During workshops, participants learned about the role of digitalization, data analysis, and artificial intelligence in modern crop protection – including how these tools help develop customized solutions for arable farming and specialty crops. A special focus was also placed on the development of biological crop protection products.

A key highlight of the day was the opportunity to speak with female professionals from Kwizda Agro working in research, development, regulatory affairs, packaging, and product management. In open discussion rounds, they shared their career paths, daily responsibilities, and personal experiences in STEM-related fields. The girls were encouraged to ask questions and left feeling inspired by the variety of professional possibilities.

Another standout moment was the visit to the Leobendorf site, where the students explored each stage of the crop protection production process up close. In the adjoining lab, they conducted their own experiments and gained a fascinating introduction to the scientific principles behind plant protection. The day ended on a creative note: at a graffiti station, the girls artistically expressed their visions of “The Future of Agriculture.” Their artwork will be turned into pencil cases in collaboration with the Caritas project tag.werk and later gifted to the participants as a keepsake from Daughters’ Day 2025.

Kwizda Agro supports Vienna’s Daughters’ Day to raise awareness among young women about the wide range of career opportunities in technology, digital innovation, and science. “We’re thrilled if we can spark curiosity and open up new perspectives for their professional futures,” said Ronald Hamedl.
